Belarusian Railways intends to expand railway service to Ukraine

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Railways intends to expand railway service to Ukraine, BelTA has learned from Aleksandr Drozhzha, First Deputy Head of the Belarusian Railways Passenger Service, on 25 February.

“We are actively working on the extension of the railway route network with Ukraine now. We are considering introducing a train service or attaching direct cars from Vitebsk to Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi,” Aleksandr Drozhzha noted.

Belarus also plans to expand railway service to Lviv by organizing the parity service. As of 25 February, according to Aleksandr Drozhzha, there is only one Belarusian train running to Lviv. “Ukraine has not yet reciprocated us but we are working on introducing one more train service. We have five pairs of trains on the Belarus-Ukraine route now,” Aleksandr Drozhzha highlighted.
