MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) – The members of the 12th Belarusian Antarctic expedition wished women Happy Women's Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).
“The 12th Belarusian Antarctic expedition sends warmest greetings to their loved ones and all wonderful women of the NASB and our country on the International Women's Day. Men give you flowers, perform feats for you, write poems and songs. We wish you to catch admiring glances, feel love, care and respect of men every day! With love from Antarctica!” the message of greetings says. The Belarusian polar explorers made a special video on the ice continent for the holiday.
A solemn ceremony to launch the 12th Belarusian Antarctic expedition took place on 5 November. The expedition is composed of ten people. In addition to further building up the infrastructure of the first stage of the station they will take a lot of samples of natural Antarctic materials and carry out a set of scientific studies. In the new season the cooperation in Antarctica has been expanded. One member of the expedition (geophysicist) works as a member of the Bulgarian Antarctic expedition, one – the Turkish expedition (geoecological research), and one is on the Russian team (biological research).
