Belarusian People’s Congress delegates to hold series of open dialogues

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) - Delegates of the Belarusian People’s Congress will hold a series of open dialogues titled Voice of Youth: Vector for the Future, Aleksandr Davydovsky, Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union, told BelTA.
“The BRSM is vested with the right to nominate and elect delegates to the Belarusian People’s Congress. The Justice Ministry has recognized the organization as a civil society entity with the right to engage with government bodies (organizations) under special arrangements. On 9 April 2024, at the 45th BRSM Congress, 80 delegates were elected to participate in the Congress - ten from each region and 20 from Minsk,” said Aleksandr Davydovsky.

According to him, the delegates from the BRSM represent various spheres, fields of activity, and ages. They include students, working youth, military personnel, creative individuals, and athletes.

“Being a delegate of the highest representative body of people’s power is not just an honor. Such status entails additional responsibility for the future of one’s native country, its progressive development and strengthening, the consolidation of Belarusians in addressing strategic issues, and the preservation of a lasting peace. The function of a delegate of the Belarusian People’s Congress is not only to help determine the strategic directions for the development of the state and society, doing so based on the collective opinion of their community, but also, after the session, to inform people about the outcomes and explain the adopted documents in an accessible form,” Aleksandr Davydovsky explained.

Starting today, the Belarusian People’s Congress delegates from the BRSM Youth Union will visit organizations and enterprises where they will primarily discuss the country’s social and economic development program for 2026-2030. “Our goal is not merely to convey facts. We aim to create a platform where this information is not just dry text, but becomes living material for reflection, discussion, and, most importantly, for shaping one’s own, informed civic position.”
