Belarusian People’s Congress delegate: Dialogue with people is best built on visible results

Delegates of the VII Belarusian People’s Congress are preparing to discuss the country’s socio-economic development program at the second session. Over the past year, they have held numerous meetings in workplaces and communities, explaining state policy and hearing directly about people’s concerns and expectations. Belarusian People’s Congress delegate and director of Skidel Secondary School No. 1 Tatiana Kozlova says such dialogue has been essential ahead of the upcoming session.

Tatiana Kozlova, who has led her school for twenty years, works closely with hundreds of students, their families, and teachers. After the first session of the Belarusian People’s Congress, she actively shared its key messages with residents of Grodno District. Participating in the Congress for the first time in 2024, she was deeply impressed by the scale of the forum and the president’s address, and sought to convey its meaning to her community.

Throughout the year, she met with people not only in her own school but also in other educational institutions and workplaces, discussing the president’s message “Time chose us”. For her, its core idea is responsibility: professional, civic, and human. When this is explained through real-life examples, she said, people respond openly, appreciate what has been achieved, and offer their own ideas.

Her school itself provides many such examples: new classrooms with interactive boards, a large sports hall, a modern cafeteria, updated library spaces, workshops, and an interactive shooting range. Teachers, students, and parents all contributed to these improvements and now take pride in the results. More than 75% of graduates enter universities each year, and the school succeeds in sports, arts, and academic competitions.

Delegates received the draft concept of the national socio-economic development program in advance. Tatiana Kozlova believes that meetings with citizens help ensure that the country’s development aligns with people’s interests and confirms the social orientation of state policy.

Among the key topics she expects to be discussed at the Belarusian People’s Congress session is youth policy: new approaches to education and patriotic upbringing, support for young specialists in schools, and assistance with housing. She noted that young people are ready to contribute, and this mutual commitment will ensure continuity and a stable future for the country.
