MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – Belarus’ Foreign Affairs Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, together with his spouse Natalya Ryzhenkova, visited the Social and Pedagogical Center of Minsk’s Moskovsky District as part of the nationwide Our Children campaign, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been cooperating with this institution since 2007. Over this time, supporting the center’s children and holding personal meetings with them has become a good tradition for the diplomatic service.
During the visit, representatives of the ministry brought gifts for 20 children living at the center. The children received sweet packages as well as equipment for dance and creative activities.
This was not the ministry’s first charitable initiative this year: earlier, the MFA had prepared gifts for the center’s children at the start of the school year, and ahead of the New Year once again joined the Our Children campaign.
Speaking to the children and staff, the minister noted: “There are no children who are not ours: all children are ours, whatever situation they may be in. These are bright, intelligent, talented kids who must feel care and support. We came to share this holiday with them, to give a little warmth and attention. It is very important to remind all of us how we must value childhood and invest in the development of children. This is our future, and no Belarusian should remain on the sidelines.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that supporting children in difficult life situations remains an important area of social responsibility, and participation in the Our Children campaign will continue in the future.
