Lukashenko given cow named Musya

UZDA DISTRICT, 19 June (BelTA) – During his visit to the Yachenka dairy complex of BelInterGen-Agro in Uzda District, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was presented with a Jersey cow named Musya, BelTA has learned.

One of the company’s main areas of activity is the development of pedigree livestock breeding. BelInterGen primarily breeds Holstein cattle, but they have also begun expanding the Jersey breed. It was a representative of this latter breed that was gifted to the head of state.
The Jersey is a small dairy breed. Its main feature is milk with a high fat and protein content, including elevated levels of A2 protein. At the same time, due to their lower body weight, these cows require significantly less feed. Daily milk yield reaches up to 30 liters.
The enterprise began breeding the Jersey line from a single cow, also named Musya, who lived for 11 years. Symbolically, the ginger cow presented to the president bears the same name.
