MOSCOW, 24 December (BelTA) - A school for 1,200 students, built by Belarusian specialists, opened in the ancient city of Suzdal, Vladimir Oblast, Russia on 24 December. This largest educational center in the region was constructed in the shortest possible time, BelTA has learned.
The opening ceremony was attended by Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik. He noted that Belarusians have already built more than one school in Russian regions. “I admire our builders. Each school is unique in its own way, each one is a new, modern project. For Vladimir Oblast, this project is special, iconic,” Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik said.

The ambassador thanked Governor of Vladimir Oblast Alexander Avdeyev, who, during a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk in 2023, made a decision to give the project to Belarusian specialists. “We have demonstrated that we can build such a wonderful ‘temple of knowledge’ using high-quality modern materials,” Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik noted adding that the next project for Belarusian builders in Vladimir Oblast will be a stadium.
“The school is unique in its architecture and layout, and, of course, in its substance. I would like to thank our partners, Belstroytsentr company. Belarusian builders have once again demonstrated exceptional skill, both in speed and quality of work.Thank you very much!” Governor of Vladimir Oblast Alexander Avdeyev said at the opening ceremony.
He asked the ambassador to convey words of gratitude to the Belarusian president. “We first discussed the idea of having Belarusian builders construct this school with him. This is a New Year's gift for Suzdal and Suzdal District,” the governor said. He also thanked Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko for her support of this project.
The largest school in Vladimir Oblast is a set of buildings distinguished by its intricate geometric shape and comprising four functional wings, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of students of different age groups. The first wing is intended for high school and middle school students. It houses modern, spacious classrooms and necessary service rooms.
The second wing serves as the central zone of the school compound, integrating the entrance area, a dining hall with kitchen, an auditorium, a library with a reading zone and media center, creativity and workshop classrooms, the director’s office and administrative wing, and a medical unit and health services.
The third wing is specifically designed for elementary school students. The primary school has an independent entrance, providing children with additional safety and convenience in movement.

The fourth wing will serve as the center for students' physical activity. It houses a sports complex, swimming pools, and even a dedicated area for archery.
The building feature floors of varying heights. There is also an underground level intended for utility purposes. The school is accessible for people with limited mobility. The main entrance is located at ground level, while ramps and dedicated wheelchair lifts are provided in other areas.
According to the local authorities, the facility will become a significant contribution to the development of the educational infrastructure of the historic city and will enable the provision of modern, high-quality education to residents of Suzdal and nearby communities.
