Belarus' youth union taking part in educational forum in Russia's Pskov Oblast

MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – A delegation of the BRSM Youth Union represents Belarus at the regional stage of the all-Russian youth educational forum Territory of Meanings that is running in Russia's Pskov Oblast on 12-17 April, head of the delegation, official representative of the BRSM Central Committee Kristina Kechko told BelTA.

“We are happy to take part in the largest regional educational forum Territory of Meanings that brings together young people from all walks of life. The BRSM delegation includes youth leaders and representatives of the students' team movement from all over Belarus. At the forum, young specialists, young politicians and representatives of higher education institutions of the two countries not only complete the forum's educational program that includes discussions with representatives of companies and regional authorities, concept-sessions aimed at unlocking leaders' potential, networking and presentations of projects but also to outline important issues for the youth of Pskov Oblast and Belarus and find common solutions to them. We have also obtained unique experience and necessary skills to promote our projects,” Kristina Kechko said.

The goal of the forum is to find ideas for a new image and determine the system of values of the youth. “We are learning to work in sync with our Russian colleagues. This is completely new experience. We have different background, but the problems we face in the implementation of the youth policy are somewhat similar. By the way, we have found out that we have more experience in some matters than the participants from Pskov Oblast. We discussed the issues of their region together and suggested solutions that are already successfully used in Belarus and the BRSM. After exchanging best practices, the participants came to the conclusion that career growth opportunities for young specialists and support for young families are at a high level in Belarus,” Kristina Kechko noted.

During meetings with high-ranking officials of Pskov Oblast, the participants discussed ways to step up international youth cooperation, she added. For example, there were suggestions to resume the international project Mound of Friendship or to expand the forum and hold it in Belarus.

The organizers of the forum are the Pskov Oblast administration and the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
