Belarus touted as example of overcoming difficulties

MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) - Many countries should take an example from Belarus, the way it overcomes difficulties, Moldovan Ambassador to Belarus Victor Sorochan said as he took part in a ceremony held in the All Saints Memorial-Church in Minsk on 8 May to shelve capsules with soil collected from various battlefields and places of massacre of innocent civilians, BelTA learned.

“During my three years in Belarus I have become convinced that many countries do not have what Belarus has: careful preservation of monuments, war graves tidy, the attitude of all Belarusians to the terrible war. Belarus itself is a living monument of that war and its role in the Great Victory was very great," the diplomat said.

He also drew special attention to the genuine patriotism of Belarusian citizens, the consolidation of society in the face of difficulties, including those related to the spread of coronavirus infection. “I think many countries (not only in the CIS but also in the world) can take an example from the way Belarus overcomes difficulties and the way it relates to the history and memory of the Great Victory,” Ambassador Victor Sorochan said.
