MINSK, 21 January (BelTA) – Belarus will showcase groundbreaking or promising weapons, military and special-purpose vehicles at the international exhibition of armament and military technology MILEX 2019, First Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee Igor Demidenko said at a session of the organizing committee of the expo, BelTA has learned.
“The core of Belarus' exposition will feature groundbreaking or promising weapons, military and special-purpose vehicles that are in demand on the global arms market. They will demonstrate the capacity of the domestic defense industry. These pieces of arms, military and special-purpose vehicles are to be presented as part of comprehensive projects to develop armament systems in line with the program to promote the defense industry and develop the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus till 2020. These exhibits should also showcase the results of academic, technical, manufacturing and interdisciplinary cooperation,” Igor Demidenko said.
The organizing committee discussed organizational matters, including concept designs of pavilions, disposition of exhibits in the indoor and outdoor exhibition areas.
The expo is to be located in the indoor area of the Minsk Arena complex that covers 12,000 square meters, and in the adjoining outdoor area.
About 60 exhibitors have already submitted tentative lists of products they would like to show in Minsk.
MILEX 2019 information partners include 24 specialized publications, news agencies and foreign exhibition regulators from Azerbaijan, Belarus, India, Russia and Estonia.
