MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – Belarus supports the UN recommendations to resume the dialogue on the migration agenda, official representative of the State Border Committee Anton Bychkovsky told BelTA.
"The visit of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants Felipe González Morales to the Republic of Belarus made it possible to convey the position of our country on the situation with refugees and migrants on the Belarusian-Polish border. We highly appreciate that the outcome of the meetings held in Minsk was reflected in the interim report and communicated to the international community," Anton Bychkovsky said.
He stressed that the Belarusian side, in turn, supports the special rapporteur's recommendations to resume and develop constructive bilateral communication between Belarus and Poland, and also interaction with the EU. “The State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus is open to dialogue with all interested international organizations on migration issues. We are convinced that the only way to create proper conditions and protect the rights of refugees and migrants is to involve in the dialogue all countries on the route of migration movements," Anton Bychkovsky concluded.
