Belarus shares over 90,000 exit ban entries with Russia

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are sharing information about citizens, who are forbidden to leave the two countries, BelTA learned from the Telegram channel of Olga Chemodanova, Press Secretary of the Internal Affairs Ministry.

Belarus has already exported and sent to Russia over 90,000 database entries about Belarusian citizens, who are subject to exit restrictions, Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry Aleksei Begun said. The official remarked that the countries need a common list of citizens, whose right to leave the two countries is restricted, in order to prevent them from leaving for third countries and presenting a threat to the national security and the public security of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

Belarus and Russia will continue sharing exit ban data. The Internal Affairs Ministry reminded that Belarus and Russia had signed intergovernmental agreements on sharing information about citizens, whose rights to leave the countries is restricted.
