The CIS Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA CIS) monitoring group includes member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Gleb Lapitsky. During a meeting with the representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan led by First Deputy Prosecutor General Baimurza Maatov, the parties discussed the progress of the election campaign. The discussion focused on social media campaigning, digitalization of voting, and efforts to prevent the use of administrative resources for election purposes.
Among the international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is Anatoly Bulavko, member of the Standing Commission on National Security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus. Ahead of the elections, the CSTO PA observers met with Chairwoman of the Judicial Board for Administrative Cases of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurgul Bakirova. Consideration was given to judicial protection of citizens’ electoral rights, the procedure for handling complaints and appeals related to the election campaign, as well as the role of courts in ensuring the legality and transparency of the elections.
In September 2025, the MPs of the Jogorku Kenesh decided to dissolve the parliament in order to hold snap elections and increase the time period between the parliamentary elections, which were scheduled for November 2026, and the presidential elections, scheduled for January 2027. The elections will be held under a new system.
A total of 467 candidates have been registered. Each voter can vote for only one candidate. Nearly 4.3 million voters will be able to cast their ballots at 2,492 polling stations in Kyrgyzstan, as well as at 100 stations in 34 foreign countries.
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan residing or temporarily staying in Belarus will be able to vote on 30 November at 57 Starovilenskaya Street, Minsk, at polling station No. 9023 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Minsk time.
