Belarus-Russia cooperation in military technology discussed at MAKS 2021

MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia Dmitry Shugayev, and Director General of Rosoboronexport Company Aleksandr Mikheyev discussed cooperation in the sphere of military technology, BelTA has learned.

The meeting and negotiations between the heads of these agencies took place during the international aviation and space salon MAKS 2021. Events and projects of the Belarus-Russia military technology cooperation program for the period till 2025 were on the agenda. The document is important for invigorating bilateral military technology cooperation and cooperation between Belarusian and Russian defense enterprises. The document is also important for switching the realization of specific joint projects into the practical dimension.

Dmitry Pantus also met with Director General of the National Aviation Service Company Aleksei Aleshin and First Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia Andrei Boitsov. The Russian side talked about the main functions and tasks of the National Aviation Service Company and expressed interest in advancing mutually beneficial cooperation. The sides discussed possible mechanisms of further interaction, including in the interests of third countries.

The Belarusian defense industry is represented at MAKS 2021 by ZAO BelTechExport, OAO 558 Aircraft Repair Plant, OAO Display Design Office, UP 407 Technics, and OAO Integral.

The R&D and innovative potential in the aviation segment of the Belarusian defense industry was represented at the salon. The products on display advertised cutting-edge defense technologies and capabilities in the area of R&D and production of aerial robots (light reconnaissance aircraft-type drones, superlight drones, and strike drones), radioelectronic protection systems designed to protect flying aircraft from guided ground and aerial strike systems, information display systems, capabilities of Belarusian enterprises with regard to repair, maintenance, and modernization of various aircraft and helicopters, samples of resilient microchips, and many other products.
