MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – Documents on cooperation were signed and roadmaps by sectors were worked out by representatives of the governments of Belarus and Oman in Muscat during the visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. The documents include a memorandumof understanding in the field of standardization, metrology, conformity assessment and accreditation signed between the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman and Belarus’ State Standardization Committee, the press service of the State Standardization Committee told BelTA.
The document reaffirms the parties' commitment to promoting interaction in these areas in order to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation. It provides for the exchange of information on technical regulations, standards, conformity assessment and accreditation procedures applied in the countries and the accumulated experience in these areas. The document also pays attention to training and advanced training of specialists. In this regard, seminars and training courses will be organized. The parties will also encourage exchange of opinions and efforts to harmonize positions.According to the State Standardization Committee, the memorandum has become the first document establishing cooperation in the field of standardization, metrology, conformity assessment and accreditation between Belarus and Oman. It will contribute to the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the head of state to Oman.
