Belarus-Laos visa waiver agreement comes into force

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – The intergovernmental agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to waive visas for ordinary passport holders entered into force on 15 January, BelTA learned from the Belarusian foreign mission in Vietnam.

From now on, citizens of Belarus and Laos who have valid ordinary passports with a validity period of at least 180 days may enter, leave, stay, and/or transit through the territory of either country without a visa, provided that their stay does not exceed 30 days from the date of entry.

The total period of stay in the territory of either party to the agreement should not exceed 90 days within a calendar year.

Citizens intending to stay in the territory of the other country for more than 30 days must obtain the appropriate visa in advance, regardless of the purpose of travel.

Entry into and exit from the Republic of Belarus are carried out through international border checkpoints with valid travel documents.
