MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) is ready to provide the necessary assistance to Myanmar in implementing space projects, Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB, during a meeting with a delegation from the Myanmar Space Agency, BelTA learned from the NASB press service.
He stated that Belarus has experience in developing small spacecraft designed for ionospheric sounding from space and detecting thermal anomalies, and that the ground infrastructure for satellite control and data acquisition has been successfully operational for over a decade.

“Small satellites are an excellent opportunity to begin remote sensing of the Earth and obtain detailed information about one's own territory,” Vladimir Karanik emphasized. At the same time, he expressed confidence that in space research, the size of a state does not matter: even small countries, given the will and assistance from other states, can gain access to space.
In turn, Mya Than, Deputy Chief Executive Director of the Myanmar Space Agency, highly praised the scientific potential of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, particularly in the field of space research.
The collaboration between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Myanmar Space Agency is carried out in accordance with a memorandum of cooperation in science and technology signed in June 2025.
