MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) – A regular batch of air defense missile systems Tor-M2 has arrived in Belarus, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
The delivery of these air defense missile systems represents a vivid example of fruitful military technology cooperation between Belarus and Russia as part of the efforts to improve the joint air defense system. The Tor-M2 air defense missile system enables efficient air defense of designated installations and is also capable of carrying out combat missions in complicated climatic conditions.
“The delivery of a new batch of Tor-M2 air defense missile systems will enhance the brigade’s combat capabilities as a whole and will improve the ability to provide air defense to designated installations. The brigade’s personnel have mastered this type of air defense missile systems and are ready to use it in any conditions. An excellent score obtained as a result of a live-fire exercise vividly confirms that. This type of air defense missile systems has performed great as part of [Russia’s] special military operation [in Ukraine]. The system is highly mobile, has low response time, and is capable of simultaneously engaging a broad range of aerial targets, including unmanned aerial vehicles,” noted Pavel Grebenchuk, the commanding officer of an air defense missile brigade.
