MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) - An all-altitude detector radar station, a new piece of military hardware, has begun guarding Belarus’ air borders, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

“The all-altitude detector radar station 96L6 is designed to detect and measure the coordinates of targets. At a distance of up to 300 km, this station is capable of detecting, tracking up to 100 targets simultaneously, and providing target designation for them,” the ministry explained.

The adoption and deployment of the new radar station for combat duty is one of the stages in re-equipping the Air Force and Air Defense Force anti-aircraft missile units with S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.
