MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) - Belarus and China will develop a roadmap for the development of cooperation in humanities, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) Vladimir Gusakov said as he met with President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Xie Fuzhan, BelTA learned from the NASB press service.
“Belarusian and Chinese scholars have developed good ties, have executed a number of projects. Currently 31 organizations of the National Academy of Sciences has agreements and memoranda with academic organizations of China. At the NASB we have set up 20 joint structures, research centers and laboratories with Chinese partners. The roadmap filled with specific content and joint projects will contribute to the broadening and deepening of our cooperation,” Vladimir Gusakov said.
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences have been actively developing ties in philosophy, economic research. Belarus and China have also held three scientific forums on humanities. Preparations are underway for the fourth one. The potential Chinese and Belarusian scholars is high enough to boost collaborative research in history, sociology, cultural development.
President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Xie Fuzhan confirmed the readiness of Chinese scholars to work with the Belarusian research organizations and noted that the bilateral relations are maintained at a high level of strategic partnership.
The parties considered the NASB's proposal to set up a laboratory of social sciences at the the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. This would provide a possibility to conduct joint research in the field of humanities and social sciences, organize events, conferences and forums.
For robust cooperation and rapid development of the Belarusian-Chinese scientific relations President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Xie Fuzhan has been honored with the medal “90 Years of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” and a commendation letter from the NASB Humanities and Arts Division.
The delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences headed by President Xie Fuzhan visited the NASB to meet with its senior officials, discuss bilateral relations and prospects of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in humanities.
