Belarus-China technology competition receives 47 applications

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – The Belarus-China competition of joint tech projects in 2019-2020 has received 47 applications, Chairman of Belarus' State Science and Technology Committee Alexander Shumilin said at a ceremony to launch the construction of the Chinese-Belarusian center for cooperation in transforming R&D accomplishments at the Great Stone industrial park, BelTA has learned from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee.

The projects fall into line with bilateral cooperation priorities. The contest is held in the following categories: information and communication technology, energy efficiency and energy saving, biotechnology, chemistry and agricultural industry.

“Cooperation in research and development can make a significant contribution to bilateral cooperation. The project to build the Chinese-Belarusian center for cooperation in transforming R&D accomplishments will set the stage for new tech companies and enterprises in Belarus and China,” Alexander Shumilin said.

The project to build the Chinese-Belarusian center for cooperation in transforming R&D accomplishments is included in the program of bilateral sci-tech cooperation till 2020. The program also features other promising and strategic projects, like the establishment of a company to manufacture solar energy equipment to be used by the training and testing facility of Belarusian State University and Dalian Polytechnic University, the Chinese-Belarusian Center for the Incubation of Innovative Projects.
