MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) - Cooperation between Belarus and China has been growing rapidly, effectively and fruitfully, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong told the media following the meeting with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova in Minsk on 16 May, BelTA has learned.
"The Chinese-Belarusian relations have the status of an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership. Our cooperation in various fields is very active, effective and fruitful," Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong said.
Cooperation between MPs is of great importance, the ambassador said. "MPs have laid a very good legislative basis for strengthening Chinese-Belarusian cooperation," he stressed. “Cooperation between MPs is not limited to the parliamentary dimension. It also extends to women’s and youth policies. Since the members of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus are regional representatives, our cooperation between the parliaments is of great importance for regional cooperation between our two countries."
"The past three years have been declared the thematic Year of the Regions of the two countries," Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong recalled. “More than 300 events have been held within the framework of the Year of the Regions of China and Belarus, which have contributed a lot to promoting cooperation between our two countries at the level of regions and provinces, cities. Thanks to this, new points of regional cooperation between our countries have emerged."
