MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) - Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Igor Karpenko spoke about the newly-elected of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus at a press conference on the preliminary results of the single voting day at the CEC information center on 26 February, BelTA has learned.
A total of 110 deputies of the House of Representatives were elected. The latest data were announced at 2.00 on 26 February at a press conference in the CEC information center.
“Among the elected deputies are 20 members of the House of Representatives of the seventh convocation (18.2%), 37 women (33.6%), one person under the age of 31, 70 members of political parties and 40 non-party members,” Igor Karpenko said.
“Among the members of political parties are 51 members of the Belaya Rus party (46.4%), seven members of the Communist Party of Belarus (6.4%), four members of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus (3.6%), and eight members of the Republican Party of Labor and Justice (7.3%),” the CEC head said.
