MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) - A delegation of Belarus, led by Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky, took part in the opening of the 7th session of the UN Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, which is underway in Indonesia from 24 to 27 May, BelTA learned from the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus.
The ceremony was attended by Indonesia President Joko Widodo, Chairman of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly Abdullah Shaheed, UN Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammed and Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Disaster Risk Reduction Mami Mizutori.
More than 7,000 participants have registered for the event.

The session will comprise high-level events, bilateral meetings with the heads of emergencies agencies of other countries and representatives of international organizations, and also Vadim Sinyavsky's speech to the session delegates - participants of the ministerial round table.
