Belarus’ ambassador meets with Belgrade University students

MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Serbia Sergei Malinovsky met with students of the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade, BelTA learned from the Belarusian foreign mission in Belgrade.

The diplomat met with students studying Belarusian and Russian. The event was held in an interactive format. The students presented their own Belarusian- and Serbian-language projects about the natural symbols, landscapes and landmarks of Belarus and Serbia, accompanied by vivid photographs.

The ambassador supplemented the presentations with interesting facts about Belarusian symbols in various areas, placing particular emphasis on Belarus’ modern achievements. He invited those present to take part in upcoming cultural events organized under the auspices of the Belarusian Embassy and expressed readiness to support further development of inter-university cooperation.

Noting the students’ strong command of the Belarusian language, Ambassador Sergei Malinovsky expressed confidence that their knowledge will be in demand, including for the development of Belarus-Serbia cooperation, and wished them continued success in their studies. The meeting was organized in cooperation with the Department of Slavic Studies of the Faculty of Philology, with the participation of its head, Jelena Ginić, and Belarusian and Russian language teacher Svetlana Golyak.
