Andreichenko: Belarusian People's Congress needs to meet people's expectations

DOKSHITSY DISTRICT, 29 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian People's Congress needs to meet people's expectations, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko told the media on 29 December, BelTA has learned.

According to the speaker of the lower house of parliament, the forum will be an important event in the life of the country. “Delegates from all segments of our society should take part in the Belarusian People's Congress. The president spoke about it yesterday. These should be intellectuals, agricultural and industrial workers and government officials. The Congress will determine the government policy for the next five years. It will also consider issues of further development of the social and political structure of the country. I think it is very important, people have very high expectations from the Belarusian People's Congress,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.

In his words, discussions and dialog platforms on Belarus' political and economic development were held before the announcement of the date of the forum. The parliament received more than 5,000 proposals from the citizens. “The Belarusian People's Congress should meet people's expectations,” added the chairman of the House of Representatives.

The 6th Belarusian People's Congress will take place in Minsk on 11-12 February 2021. The main provisions of Belarus' social and economic development program for 2021-2025, as well as the trends of the country's social and political development will be discussed by the participants of the Congress. The total number of the participants and invitees will be 2,700 people.
