MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – The United States and Europe interpret the Ukraine conflict differently for several reasons, starting with geography, Doctor of Political Sciences, expert on national security and the Middle East Simon Tsipis said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“The United States is not as impulsive in its approach as other NATO or European nations for a number of reasons. The primary one is geographical. The USA won’t deploy troops to the European battlefield, while European countries see this war as right on their doorstep.
Europe has a completely different interpretation of this conflict,” Simon Tsipis said.

According to the expert, Washington perceives the Ukraine conflict as remote and irrelevant to the core U.S. interests. Meanwhile, European countries, owing to their geographic position, frequently “panic” over this conflict. The ruling elite of European states often speak about a certain “Russian threat.” This especially applies to the leadership of Poland and the Baltic states.

“The difference in the perception of this conflict has significant consequences. It has been revealed that CIA advisers participated directly in consulting the forces preparing the Maidan Uprising, something the USA openly admits. In countries experiencing color revolutions and coups d'état, the U.S. embassy consistently serves as the operational decision-making center,” Simon Tsipis emphasized.

At the same time, he believes that the United States is not ready to send its soldiers to participate in the armed conflict in Ukraine. Meanwhile, individual European states often raise the issue of sending their own military contingents to Ukraine.
