Lukashenko: We will always honor the great deed of the elder generations

MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – In the name of independence Belarus will always honor the great deed of the elder generations. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement in his congratulations to the nation on the occasion of Independence Day and the 75th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from the Nazi invaders, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The head of state noted that the nationwide celebration unites Belarusians in their desire for peace, accord, and preservation of the historic chronicle of the country.

The message reads: “The Great Patriotic War brought the pain of losses to every family. It brought sorrow and inhuman suffering to millions of Belarusians, yet it awoke the feeling of national unity, civic duty, and readiness to protect the native country to the last dying breath in minds and hearts of everyone.” The victory over the Nazi was an act of supreme justice and a symbol of the unconquered spirit of the Belarusian nation.

“In the name of our independence, historic truth and peace on Earth we will always honor the great deed of the elder generations. We will always strive to be worthy of their memories. We will use the lives of the true heroes as an example to raise our kids and create the future of Belarus together with them as a sovereign, strong, and prosperous country,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
