MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) - Plans are in place to eliminate all forms of intermediation, primarily in agriculture, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he approved the appointment of new heads of the district executive committees, BelTA has learned.
“God forbid you engage in mediation. We have reached an agreement with the agriculture and food minister first and foremost. This applies to everyone. Work is currently underway. Kosinets [Aleksandr Kosinets, Deputy Chairman of the seventh Belarusian People’s Congress] is responsible for this work. We are set to eliminate all forms of mediation. Engaging in mediation will be a very bad thing. Because half of the managers have been jailed: when there is an intermediary, there are bribes. I just read the latest report. It's terrible,” the head of state said.
“You see what is happening in Ukraine. Ukraine has always been afflicted with corruption. The recent case is about $100 million. Trump said that the USA alone gave Ukraine $300 billion. What is $100 million out of $300 billion? Nothing. But the main point is not that someone stole that $100 million. What's important is that the system has been exposed, from the top leader all the way down,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Even in this Ukrainian whirlwind, that is not the main thing. The main thing is that they are now being pulled by strings from abroad, from across the ocean. They [referring to Vladimir Zelensky] were being put under control to be told what to do: 'Remove this one, this one, this one, this one...' He removes them. and then they will remove you too.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Belarus has also been fighting this virus for all the recent decades. "We have plenty of this too. Any country has plenty of it. But no one will accuse me of encouraging some crooks who would, among other things, bring me bribes. No one. But he will be accused. So, look. You came to work, then work. It's an interesting work. You're not poor," the Belarusian leader emphasized.

Speaking about the eradication of mediation, the зresident noted that he does not intend to stifle the initiative of the local authorities. "If you find something cheaper than what the agriculture and food minister offers, I will only encourage and support you. But if you buy some chemical reagents, fertilizers, spare parts, and other things at triple the price and then pay a kickback to this intermediary… Guys, you have chosen this path yourselves," Aleksandr Lukashenko warned.
