MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Local officials need to be more proactive in decision-making and to work harder, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he talked to the media in Minsk on 26 August, BelTA has learned.
"If someone is not willing, we will make them. If someone do not know how, we will teach them. If someone does not want to… Well you know my policy. I don't know if this is my failing or not, but I am a military man. ‘Follow my lead' is the slogan in the army. I always preach this policy. Today I travel across the country without pausing for breath and I will not allow someone to just sit idle. Smart people, noticing this, will follow my lead," the president said.
"Those who tail away and fall, well, we will raise them and transfer to another job. Those who harm, you also know what will happen to them. You have to undress and work. Work hard even if it's so hot," the head of state put it figuratively.
