Lukashenko responds to officials’ requests for state support

MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) - Government officials must end the habit of regularly turning to the state for financial support to address various issues, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers on 23 October, BelTA has learned.

One of the topics of the meeting was a directive on state support for Belarusian Railways. On this subject, the President spoke more generally, calling for such situations to be addressed by tapping into internal resources to a greater degree, rather than by turning to the state for support.

“I am warning you once again, publicly: stop coming here for money. Just stop. There are work collectives, there are areas of competence. In this case, there are trains, cars, planes, helicopters, and so on. Use them for travel!” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
