MOSCOW, 13 March (BelTA) – Russia currently has an edge in Ukraine conflict, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told journalists in the Kremlin on 13 March, BelTA has learned.
When asked what is needed today for Ukraine peace talks to begin in earnest, the president said: “To be honest, the Russians need to agree to it. They are reluctant to do it now because they are doing better on the front. Therefore, they hold all the cards, as Trump said.”

“An agreement will be reached unless they start playing these trump cards and winning,” the head of state added.
When asked to comment on the trip of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kursk Oblast the day before and Russia's military gains on this front, the Belarusian head of state said: “Well done. Do you think the commander-in-chief did this for no reason? If he comes, tomorrow, figuratively speaking, the entire area must be completely liberated. Well, as far as I understand, it will be liberated in a few days.”
