MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – There will be no extra money to finance the Armed Forces, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said on 15 January as he was receiving a report on the 2025 state investment program, BelTA has learned.
The head of state criticized plans to build non-essential facilities for the Armed Forces, like parade grounds and sports grounds for the military.
“I want to warn people in uniform: there will be no extra money. We should drop projects that we can do without,” the president emphasized.
“We agreed that the Armed Forces should move away from excessive square-bashing and regimentation. The Armed Forces should focus on physical training of the personnel, among other things. But if you need something, just tell us, we will make a decision,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
