Lukashenko: Housing issue for all service members will be resolved within years

MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – Within the next couple of years, Belarus will completely resolve the housing issue for all people in uniform, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a ceremony to present state awards and general’s shoulder straps to Belarusian officers, BelTA has learned.

“I would like to ask you to never, even for a moment, let down Belarusian people. You know that in these difficult and challenging times, we are addressing the most pressing issues you once raised with me, which is ensuring your families are provided for and your everyday needs are met. Above all, the housing needs. This involves significant resources. And within the next couple of years, we will resolve it completely. People see this. I cannot recall a single instance of anyone saying that it is wrong to provide housing for our military, for all service members,” the Belarusian leader stated.

“I emphasize once again: people believe we are doing the right thing and they count on us. And we must not let them down under any circumstances,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
Aleksandr Lukashenko also emphasized the importance of high-quality training for all people in uniform, especially officers. They will soon take tests and undergo a professional aptitude exam. Physical fitness is also crucial for survival in military conflicts. “Those who are out of shape, including officers, will die within hours. This is why physical fitness and the weapons you receive are vital for your survival and the survival of our nation,” the president emphasized.

“I ask you to remember two things: first, the Belarusian people spare no money on us. And second, officers must master all types of modern weapons and train our soldiers accordingly. Do not complain that the wrong people were drafted, or that they are not good enough. These are our people. There will be no better ones. The army has always molded us into capable individuals. We must remember this every minute and never forget,” the head of state said.

“And for all this to come to fruition, I wish you strong, robust health. To you, your dear ones, your families, and your children,” the president concluded.
