MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has left for an official visit to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, BelTA has learned.

This marks the first highest-level visit in the history of bilateral relations.

During the visit, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune will hold talks in both narrow and expanded formats. The discussions will center on deepening trade and economic cooperation and advancing mutually beneficial bilateral projects. Key topics are set to include prospects for equipment supplies and industrial cooperation, as well as collaboration in agriculture, medicine, education, and the broader humanitarian sphere.

Following the leaders’ negotiations and the visit overall, the two sides are expected to sign a series of bilateral documents aimed at developing cooperation across various fields.

Algeria marks the fourth country on the president’s extended tour of both neighboring and distant states. Aleksandr Lukashenko traveled there directly from Oman, where he was on a working visit. Prior to that, the Belarusian leader had visited Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan.
