Lukashenko confirms Belarus' interest in cooperation with Romania

MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Romania President Klaus Iohannis as the people of the country celebrate National Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“In their aspiration for freedom and independence, the Romanian people, like Belarusians, have come a long and difficult way, the most valuable result of which was the development of a modern sovereign state,” the message of greetings reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that with the whole world facing unprecedented challenges and threats today, the main task is to preserve and strengthen this most important national wealth. “I am convinced that overcoming the trials is possible only through a broad dialogue between countries on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect. Following such principles in Belarusian-Romanian contacts will enable the states to successfully implement the existing considerable potential of bilateral relations,” the president stressed.

The head of state confirmed Belarus' interest in further development of cooperation with Romania in all the sectors of mutual interest and wished strong health and new achievements to Klaus Iohannis and peace, accord and wellbeing to the people of the country.
