Lukashenko concerned about Atlant Household Appliances Plant, intends to visit it

STARYE DOROGI DISTRICT, 16 August (BelTA) – I am planning to look into the performance of Atlant Household Appliances Plant, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he visited Shapchitsy-Agro in Uzda District which Atlant supports, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko inquired about the plant's financial performance, wages, production and sales figures. The president said that he plans to visit Atlant and learn more about its work. “We will take a closer look at the company. I want to see how things are with household equipment in general,” he said. According to the head of state, he is concerned about Atlant.

Perhaps the government will provide support to the company to spur its development. Now this issue is being scrutinized. “We will get a clearer picture as we visit Atlant,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.

The president noted that the competition in the global market has been growing. The economic situation in the region could be affected by the things happening in the relations between the United States and China, so everybody must be ready for all kinds of developments.

With regard to the Shapchitsy-Agro farm which is supported by Atlant, almost Br4 million was invested in its development in 2015-2019. It employs more than 90 professionals, the salary averages Br985.

The farm plans to earn Br4.9 million on the sale of livestock production in 2019 (Br4.7 million in 2018) and ensure the profitability of milk 46.7%. Crop sales are expected to generate Br500,000 in earnings, with 20% of profitability.

Aleksandr Lukashenko was taken on a guided tour around the farm. The president was satisfied with the work of the farm. “Not bad,” he remarked.

The head of state also suggested rewarding the best agriculture workers for services to the company, to the industry. “These people should be noticed and supported ,” he said. Aleksandr Lukashenko asked the President Administration to work through this issue and make appropriate suggestions.
