Lukashenko: Belarus hails Latvia's achievements in the period of independence

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to Latvia President Raimonds Vejonis as the country celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Latvian Republic, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The Belarusian head of state remarked that for every country its sovereignty is the foundation of prosperity and development in all fields, the main symbol of progress and peaceful life. “Belarus appreciates the achievements of Latvia in the period of independence, raising the authority of the state on the international arena,” the message of greetings reads.

The president expressed hope that mutual trust and respect, common interest in ensuring stability and security in the region will help enhance bilateral political, business and humanitarian contacts for the benefit of the nations of Belarus and Latvia.

Alexander Lukashenko wished Raimonds Vejonis health, happiness and every success. He also wished Latvian people peace and wellbeing.
