Lukashenko announces Belarus' readiness to assist Russia in building nuclear power plants abroad

MOSCOW, 25 September (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to assist Russia in building nuclear power plants abroad, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the Global Atomic Forum in Moscow on 25 September, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked the Russian president for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Belarus, which provided Belarusian specialists with valuable experience. “Thank you for the knowledge, thank you for making our country a truly nuclear state. You did without withholding any secrets, while observing international law and principles. We are ready to continue working not only in Belarus but also on the international stage, helping to build stations.”
"We already know how to do everything. The only thing we cannot do is weld and manufacture the reactor itself. That is your area of expertise. There is no need (for us in Belarus to do this]. We have learned how to do everything else. We are ready to implement such projects in all partner countries and those who are still considering which power plant to build. We are ready to participate in this. I can already say that together with the Russians, we guarantee the quality," the Belarusian leader stated.

"So, Nikol Vovayevich, please contact us if needed. If the president [of Russia] gives a green light, we are ready to proceed," Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who was present at the forum.
