Lukashenko, Aliyev hold talks at Palace of Independence in Minsk

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) - The meeting of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev is taking place at the Palace of Independence in Minsk, BelTA informs.

The Azerbaijani leader arrived in Belarus the day before. On 19 November Ilham Aliyev laid flowers at the Victory Monument and visited the Trading House of Azerbaijan, which opened in Minsk in May 2017. The president got familiar with the products and was interested in the popularity of Azerbaijani products in Belarus.

The heads of state will hold one-on-one talks and a meeting with the participation of the delegations of the two countries. After the talks the parties are expected to sign a number of international documents.

The press release of the press service reads that the presidents are expected to discuss the current state of affairs and prospects of developing relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan, share opinions on international matters. The talks will focus on the trade, economic and investment cooperation, joint projects. The presidents will also discuss the prospects of interaction in transport and logistics, healthcare, education, information and communication technologies, sport, tourism and other fields.
