Belarusian hi-tech medical equipment manufacturer invited to take over state-run enterprises

MINSK DISTRICT, 20 March (BelTA) – The innovative privately-owned company Adani should take over some state-run enterprises. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko put forward the proposal when he visited the company on 20 March, BelTA has learned.

Speaking about Adani Company, Aleksandr Lukashenko said it is an example for others to follow. The company demonstrates a high order of intelligence, a high level of import substitution, and great ambitions, he said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko described the company as a locomotive of innovative products. “We would like you to tow other enterprises behind you and let them produce components,” the head of state said.

The president said that there are high-technology companies in Belarus, however, one cannot say there are too many of them. “We need huge investments, large amounts of money in order to secure the breakthrough we desire. We don't have this kind of money and few other countries have. And those, who do, will not always give money to us [for the sake of developing the enterprises] because such enterprises will compete with them tomorrow,” he said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko backed Adani's initiative to expand the manufacturing business and acquire a land plot for it. “I like this enterprise. It is the future. Not only because they make things well and use their brains. They export things. They work all over the world and bring foreign currency into the country – it is very important. I like it also because it is a sophisticated-technology manufacturer that raises us to a higher development level,” the president concluded.
