MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – A solemn ceremony to present the Belarus president’s letters of commendation to the Chinese companies, which have participated in designing and building an international-standard swimming pool and the National Football Stadium in Minsk, took place in the Embassy of Belarus in China, representatives of the Belarusian diplomatic mission told BelTA.
These sport facilities have been built in Minsk thanks to technical and economic aid from the People’s Republic of China.
Opening the ceremony, First Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Pertsov addressed the Chinese partners. He conveyed gratitude from Belarusian athletes and from Belarus’ entire nation for the work Chinese specialists had done to erect the two landmark sport facilities in the Belarusian capital city.
The official remarked that construction had taken place within the framework of realization of the Belt and Road strategy and had not stopped even in complicated times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Both facilities have received the highest praise from the Belarus president, experts, and athletes.
Project General Manager with Beijing Construction and Engineering Group Cao Changhai made a speech on behalf of the Chinese side. He remarked that the successful construction of these facilities had been possible largely thanks to the personal attention of the leaders of the two countries as well as thanks to the Belarusian-Chinese relations of all-weather all-round strategic partnership.
Secretary of the Party Committee of the International Department of Beijing Urban Construction Group Zhang Fenglin thanked Belarus’ Council of Ministers for the support provided during the construction process.
The Belarus president’s commendations were presented to the following Chinese companies: Beijing Construction and Engineering Group, Beijing Urban Construction Group, Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, China IPPR International Engineering Corporation, Shenyang Engineering Supervision Consulting Company, Jingxing International Engineering Management Company.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Aleksandr Chervyakov welcomed the management of the key Chinese contractor companies. He remarked that thanks to their professionalism, experience, and diligence modern sport facilities of the international level had been built in Belarus.
Apart from that, a working meeting took place, during which cooperation results were discussed. It was noted that China-Belarus interaction in building sport facilities represents truly successful experience of joint work and a reliable foundation for implementing new, even more ambitious Belarusian-Chinese projects.
