Belarus president talks about career prospects after presidency

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko talked to students and professors of the Public Administration Academy on 18 October. Among other things he mentioned what he would like to do after quitting his current job, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “When I am no longer the president, I could be a rector in some university… But I cannot appoint myself rector before retiring. But working as a professor is something I can embrace.”

Students, master's students, post-graduate students, and professors of the Public Administration Academy were invited to attend the meeting with the head of state. The meeting lasted for nearly four hours. Aleksandr Lukashenko stated he did not tire one bit and was ready to meet with young Belarusians more often. “This energy and our communication are very important to me. Honestly speaking, I am not even tired. It was interesting for me to talk to our young people,” the president said. “I am going to definitely meet with university students in classrooms every two months. Whatever you may say, young people are the future. University students are the foundation of any country. They will be the ones to determine what it will look like.”
