Belarus president now 8,888 days in office

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Today Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko can mark an infinity holiday – 8,888 days in power, BelTA has learned.

It should be noted that the days were counted not in Belarus but by a Russian news website. Still it is pleasant that instead of simple criticism or debates about some gossip the political analysts work with quite concrete facts and figures.

Nevertheless, it is a beautiful figure and one should thank the colleagues for giving a reason to recount what has been done in Belarus over the last 8,888 days. Moreover, the leader's success is not measured in days, but results. A lot has been accomplished indeed.

Belarus has become one of the world's top 50 countries with the highest human development index. Belarus has established trade relations with all the countries in the world. Belarus has preserved the production sector and agriculture inherited from the Soviet Union and has developed new branches of economy, too. Efforts are poured into raising living standards of the nation, building more homes, extending the life expectancy and reducing mortality rate. A lot of attention is paid to population employment.

Belarus pursues a peace-loving policy. The country's voice sounds strong in the international scene and the credit goes directly to the head of state. Belarus supports its image as a safe and calm country, a reliable partner. It has recently gained fame as a cutting-edge center in the development of information and communication technologies in view of the goals concerning the building of an IT country.

Those, who are fascinated by numerology, can wait till the next beautiful date – 9,999 days of Alexander Lukashenko working as the head of state. In China the number 9 stands for an extreme level of courage, is associated with the head of state, and symbolizes eternity.
