MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) - Relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Belarus have been developing exceptionally successfully across various sectors since their establishment, Ibrahim Salim Al-Musharrakh, the UAE's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belarus, said during his speech on 27 November at a ceremony marking the 54th anniversary of the UAE's founding, BelTA has learned.
“For over three decades, the two countries have been building close cooperation in economy, investment, defense, education, culture, healthcare, and tourism,” the diplomat emphasized.
He expressed the view that direct air travel plays a vital role in facilitating the movement of people, trade, and tourism, as well as in strengthening contacts between the peoples of both countries.
“In 2025, the bilateral relations gained particular momentum: trade exchange continued to grow, and the parties intensified the exchange of high-level visits. A key event was the trip of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to participate in a meeting of the Supreme Economic Council of the Eurasian Economic Union and his meeting with the President of the Republic of Belarus, which concluded with the signing of an agreement on trade in services and investment, as well as a comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the UAE and the EAEU,” the head of the UAE diplomatic mission said.
He noted that this year has also seen visits from the UAE to conferences and exhibitions in Belarus, reflecting an interest in expanding cooperation and dialogue in politics, economics, and security.
“The visits of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to our country are of key importance for deepening interaction between the leadership of the two states and for coordination at various levels,” the ambassador continued. “Belarusian official delegations have repeatedly visited the UAE, and the participation of Belarusian companies in specialized exhibitions, such as the IDEX international defense exhibition, the GITEX technology world exhibition, and the Gulfood food exhibition, has become a tradition, reflecting the parties’ commitment to developing bilateral relations and deepening the strategic partnership.”
Ibrahim Salim Al-Musharrakh expressed his sincere gratitude to friends and partners in the Republic of Belarus and to all those who contribute to strengthening UAE-Belarus relations for their constant support.
“In the UAE, we are confident that the relations between our countries have all the prerequisites for further comprehensive partnership, and we look to the future with confidence, hoping for new joint projects,” the head of the diplomatic mission stressed.
