Russia, Belarus to build up resilience to sanctions together

MOSCOW, 23 June (BelTA) – Russia and Belarus will build up collective resilience to the pressure of Western sanctions, BelTA learned from Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 23 June.

The official said: “The Russian Federation is dedicated to allied relations with the brotherly country of Belarus. We will continue coordinating our efforts for the sake of bolstering state sovereignty, ensuring national security of our countries on the basis of the existing international legal agreements. We will continue bolstering our collective resilience in the face of external pressure and the policy of deterrence.”

The spokeswoman also commented on the inclusion of Russian citizens in anti-Belarusian sanction lists. “As for the inclusion of persons with Russian citizenship into illegitimate sanction lists, inclusion due to totally scandalous reasons that a sane mind cannot absolutely explain, this step as always will not be left without a proportionate answer,” Maria Zakharova said.
