MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko held talks with Prime Minister of Uganda Robinah Nabbanja during his official visit to the country on 20 February, BelTA has learned.
Belarus and Uganda have a great potential for the development of economic cooperation, Roman Golovchenko said. “I am glad to have an opportunity to talk to you, to discuss the steps the governments can make to help develop and strengthen relations between our countries,” the Belarusian prime minister said.

“We did spend many hours in the air, but we do not regret it in the least because we were flying to our friends. Thank you for the invitation to visit Uganda. We hope that our visit will bring results,” the Belarusian head of government said.
He added that 25 years has passed since the president of Uganda visited Belarus.

During his visit to Uganda, Roman Golovchenko is expected to hold a one-on-one meeting with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Members of the Belarusian and Ugandan official delegations are set to hold talks. The parties are expected to sign a number of international documents.
The Belarusian delegation will then travel to Qatar. This is part of the government's consistent work to develop cooperation with the countries in the far abroad.
