MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) - Oman is a reliable friend and partner of Belarus, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during a meeting with Chairman of the State Council AbdulMalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili in Muscat on 14 October, BelTA has learned.
"More than 30 years ago, we became an independent country, and throughout this time, Oman has been a reliable friend and partner of Belarus. Both Belarus and Oman are located in the regions currently witnessing quite complex processes. Oman plays an important role in ensuring regional security, promotes peacekeeping missions in the Middle East region. For its part, Belarus also stands for the speedy resolution of all conflicts exclusively by peaceful means," Roman Golovchenko said.
"Welcome to Oman. It is an honor for us to host you in the State Council. A visit of this level is very important for Oman," Sheikh AbdulMalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili said.
He also noted that Belarus and Oman have been developing relations for a long time. He said he visited Minsk in 2012 in the capacuty of the Minister of Justice of Oman. "Minsk is a really beautiful city," the chairman of the State Council of Oman emphasized.
