Oman reaffirms commitment to enhancing economic cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – Oman is committed to developing economic relations with Belarus, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman said during the expanded-format talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 6 October, BelTA has learned.

The Sultan of Oman spoke about trade and economic cooperation with Belarus. He expressed the view that relations in this area have not yet reached their potential and stated his aspiration to take them further. "We are working hard to give momentum to our relations in this area,” Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said noted.

The Sultan of Oman described the one-on-one talks with the Belarusian president as fruitful. Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said also recalled that certain agreements and specific cooperation plans were outlined following Aleksandr Lukashenko's visit to Oman in 2024. The Sultan of Oman described his visit to Belarus as the continuation of the dialogue between the two countries.
“We confirm our support for the development of these relations. I am accompanied on this visit by a number of ministers who are handling this matter,” Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said noted.

He also highly appreciated the establishment of a joint committee for cooperation and investment between the governments of Belarus and Oman. In his opinion, this is a good beginning for coordinating cooperation between the two countries.
