MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – New Ambassador of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping and reaffirmed China’s support of Belarus at the ceremony to present the credentials to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 1 October, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko asked the ambassador to convey his best wishes to the President of China.
The Chinese diplomat said: “I am honored to present you with credentials today on the day of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Let me convey to you the greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping.”
He noted that the Chinese leader had already received a message of greetings from the Belarusian president of Belarus on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
“China and Belarus are true friends and reliable partners whose relations are built on the basis of mutual trust and sincerity. President Xi Jinping maintains the kindest friendly relations with you. Under your leadership, the China-Belarus all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership continues strengthening. China appreciates that Belarusians have always provided it with strong support on key issues related to China's core interests. China, in turn, will continue to support the development path chosen by Belarus in accordance with its national characteristics, and support the efforts of the Belarusian government to safeguard its state sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. As the new ambassador, I will do my utmost to strengthen our friendship and cooperation,” Zhang Wenchuan said.
He wished the president of Belarus good health and wellbeing, success in all endeavors.
“Thank you. We will always support you. Thank you very much,” the head of state replied.
